Ronald Gauthier has been a practicing librarian for over twenty years. He has worked in the fields of adult education and guidance counseling and a huge part of his profession involved various speaking circuits inclusive of conferences, large staff meetings, training and teaching large groups in the work settings, etc. The bulk of Gauthier’s presentation skills occurred during his 20 years as a librarian. Ronald Gauthier was a member of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association and attended many conferences. He has also submitted articles that were published in both the BCALA Newsletter and Library Journal. Currently, Ronald Gauthier presents on how to use library resources to a variety of audiences, such as civic groups and social agencies, elementary, middle, and high schools, business associations, etc. Gauthier began his career at the New Orleans Public Library back in 1994 as an adult education instructor, earned his MLIS in 1998, and became a librarian. Ronald Gauthier came to Gwinnett County Library System at an exciting time as this community was undergoing amazingly rapid transformations with the populations becoming much more diverse. Gauthier enjoyed training staff and creating programs that appealed to newly emerging populations.

As part of Black History Month, Gauthier devised a special presentation on the history and struggles for African American Voting and Civil Rights.  The presentation was delivered at several middle and high schools throughout January and February, serving over 5,900 teachers and students.
