Dr. Adrienne Coleman is a service-oriented leader who serves on the boards of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children and the City of Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board. She has also served as an AmeriCorps member and was part of the United States delegation team that assisted Moldova (Eastern Europe) in addressing issues of human trafficking and inadequate health education. Recently, she has worked with both the Aurora and Rockford Public Libraries in identifying and interrupting implicit bias as well as developing cultural competence. Other organizations that she has worked with to move diversity, equity and inclusion work forward include: Argonne National Laboratory, Fermilab, Peralta Community College District, City of Aurora Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Middlesex County Department of Human Services, New Jersey Division of Civil Rights, Kane County Sheriff’s Department, Kane County Regional Office of Education, DuPage County Regional Office of Education, Hope Fair Housing Center, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates.

In addition she has presented on national and international levels at the National Association for Diversity Officers in Higher Education Conference, National Consortium of Secondary Schools Conference, National Summit for Educational Equity, National Association for Gifted Children, National Conference on Race and Ethnicity, University of Wisconsin-Madison BREAD (Bias Research to promote Equity and Diversity) team, the United States Lactation Association, the International Lactation Association, and the Athens Institute of Research and Education STEAM Symposium. Dr. Adrienne Coleman possesses a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and a Master of Science in both Health Education and Higher Education.
